Mac users are smarter 7 November

I just saw a great story on CNET entitled Are Mac users smarter? (via).

As a Mac user myself (I switched a few months ago) I can't help but agree, but what's more interesting is the statement: "With above-average household income and education levels, the Mac population presents a very attractive target for marketers". If we're so desirable, why do I still visit so many sites that break in Safari?

Companies - get testing on the Mac! You can even do it free using Dan Vine's iCapture tool (or of course there's the slightly more substantial SiteVista).

I say the exact opposite: If you're that smart, you'll know you're able to get the same quality features without paying three times the price.

Three times the price? Lets see. Mac Mini is $499 and you don't have to worry about hardly any virus', spy ware, computer crashes or replacing the thing after a few yers. Macs may seem more expensive, but for the software, longevity and piece of mind, they are not more expensive.

For me, I belive a great designer does not need depend on any system.

They can work on PC, MAC, LINUX, using whatever he can utilize to create and finish his/her work.

Some designers may want to choose PC, some may choose MACs, but the bottom line, they can deliver quality job to their client and make it work.

You can be smart, or not as smart, If you have a willing to pursue the limitless knowledge in design, you are... a great designer.

If you're smarter then why do you think your're smarter?

That's just rubbish. What, people who can't afford Macs are stupid?

Thanks for your input guys, but I'm going to close the comments on this now - I don't think we need yet another Mac vs. PC debate. My point was about the importance of testing with Safari.
